Introducing a quick & easy recipe for healthy, refreshing and nutritious green juice. There are many great greens and we are all aware of their nutritional values. However not all of us like to drink them despite how beneficial they could be. I’ve tried, tested and now I would like to share with you my personal favorite! They contain ingredients that are easy to find, loaded with great health benefits, combined for great taste, and they are perfect for weight-loss!

The Ingredients and Their Benefits

1. Kale

Kale has one of the best nutrients among the greens. It is low in calories, high in vitamins and a great source of antioxidant. It has also been said that Kale is a super green with various health benefits. With its high nutritional value, it helps lower blood glucose level for people with diabetes, reduces risk of cardiovascular diseases and the high fiber helps prevent constipation, promoting healthy digestive tract.

2. Spinach

Spinach is another super green with similar health benefits as Kale. It is low in calories and high in nutrients.

3. Lemon

Lemon is a great source of Vitamin C that helps strengthen our immune system. It also contains potassium, magnesium and copper. Lemon also helps in digestion and detoxification that will keep our body, skin and digestive tract healthy. Drinking lemon water alone also keeps us refresh, hydrated and glowy!

4. Green Apple

Green apples have high fiber content which aids in digestion. It also helps lower cholesterol and its antioxidant properties helps produce healthy cells that boosts our immune system.

The Green Juice

Juices are simple and so nutritious that it has to be incorporated into our daily diet to keep our body and digestive system strong. It is best to drink 1 glass of fruit juice in the morning before breakfast. Load your body with the finest ingredients to pump up your energy for the rest of the day!

Caution

Some of these ingredients are super food that is high in vitamin and potassium. If you are taking any medication, do consult your doctor before consuming this on a regular basis.

Preparation

Serves 2

  • 150g Kale
  • 60g Baby Spinach
  • 1 Green Apple
  • 1 Lemon
Ingredients for Power Green Juice

Method:

  • Wash all ingredients well.
  • Cut kale into sizes just right for your juicer.
  • Slice green apple, remove seeds.
  • Peel lemon and cut into quarters.
  • Juice them all!

Total Calories: 157 kcal

Calories per Glass: 79 kcal

Cold Press Slow Juicer

While I was researching on juicers, I came across cold press that is said to retain the benefits of the fruits and vegetables that we juice. Cold press uses a technology that literally press the ingredients to extract just the juice. I love it because I find it really difficult to eat a whole lot of vegetables even though I know how valuable they are to our health. Juicing it with fruits that I like makes it so easy for me to consume. What’s best is that they are really good for me!

Using Hurom Slow Juicer

I personally use Hurom Slow Juicer and love how smooth the juices are. There are 2 strainers. Use the fine one if you would like your drink really smooth. For greens, I normally use the coarse one so my juice still retains some of the fibers.
